Bladerunner, Revisited - My Cool Director's Cut

Scene 1, Act 1. This is my director's edit and audio mix (including my home-recorded narration in opening montage), and it was also accepted in the 2014 UVU Film Festival. Our team on the set: Yours truly, Director, Shaylee Archibald, Key Grip, Alyssa Burdeos in Sound Design, Sarah Kent as DP and tri-lingual narration, Shauna Reher on-set Special Effects and Back-Up Everything, Dylan Suchesk as Script Supervisor and Neal Wandja in the Producer's role. My MacBook Pro iOS 10.9.2 "Alex", contributed male-counterpart voices for Tyrell Corporation. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it, as I've truly discovered a huge passion in film making.

THE PRODUCTION BOOK

Bladerunner, Original Movie

Here is the same scene from the original Bladerunner, directed by Ridley Scott, as a reference point for you. As Director of our team project and a big fan, I have the most respect for almost all of Mr Scott's films.

STUDENT FILM MAKING TEAM, Let's Make a Movie!

Film team intro vid, this is how Stu gets students to bond, as we all just met. I could not resist adding some groove to my quick edit (no transitions or effects allowed).

A SOLO PROJECT, "Rabbitocalypse"

Here's an entertaining two minutes of my interpretation of THE END, combining the unique and unidealized animation style of Don Hertzfeldt, set to Rob Zombie's catastrophic "Run Rabbit Run" soundtrack from the movie, "House of 1000 Corpses". If that isn't enough, over 37 foley tracks were employed to enhance this doom-stewed, apocolyptic mix down, documenting a rabbit's journey into the existential abyss of... Well, best watch and find out yourself!

IN CLASS EDIT, ORIGINAL FOOTAGE FROM UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

Mid-Term Assignment with Stu Heidmal

This short was a pop-midterm in Stu's class. Although occurring before the onslaught of post-production editing, I thought I aced it, until viewing after the rendered submission and finally then noticed the grips and their equipment in the keyframes. I've added this video to show an asset embedded in html, and to show an example of what to expect when taking a UVU Film Essentials class. Students are given an asset folder of scene takes and must analyze the different clips. We have absolutely all the artistic freedom in deciding how our edit will play out in the scene, and a little over an hour to electronically turn in.

Kim Brown's DGM ESSENTIALS, ORIGINAL CLIPS | SALEEN CARS

Kim teaches introductory digital media in a first semester essentials class. As her favorite car manufacturer donated footage to the department, we were assigned to edit the clips in an effort make a believable ad. She also gave us latitude to ad in a little personality on top.
